Artist-printmaker, born in London to Spanish parents, migrated to Australia in 1968 where he has lived since. He studied at the Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education in Sydney. He is a member of the Southern Highland Printmakers group and also a member of the Florida Printmakers U.S.A. He is currently teaching printmaking at Wollongong West TAFE.
Ameneiro has exhibited his prints in Australia, Europe and the United States. He has received several awards including the “Tyree-Tycan” award for prints three years running, and twice included in the prestigious Dobell Drawing award at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the latest being Big Night Skull - de noche ye de dia, in 2006. His works have also been included in the “Silk Cut” Linocut award twice. Commissions include the 2001 and 2006 Annual Member Print Commission for the Australian Print Council. Most recently he participated in the Burnie Print Prize 2007 and the Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize 2007.His work has been collected by major institutions including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Queensland State Gallery, The Art Gallery of South Australia, State Library of Victoria. Regional galleries including Wollongong City Gallery, Burnie Regional Art Gallery, Campbelltown City Bicentennial Art Gallery, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, Warrnambool Art Gallery and various University collections including the University of Wollongong and University of Miami.

Recently, Ameneiro won the Fremantle Print Award in 2007 and the Inaugural Wingecarribee Print Prize, Bowral in 2006.
