MARCO LUCCIO

Marco Luccio was born in Benevento (Naples) in Italy and migrated to Australia where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree with Honours High Distinction in Printmaking at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne in 1992. Marco has held several solo shows in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and New South Wales. Marco Luccio’s artwork is represented in the The National Gallery, State Library of Victoria, at Engineering Australia, and in many private and corporate collections both in Australia and overseas. He has shown work in more than 50 exhibitions in Australia and overseas and in 2003 was selected to exhibit in the prestigious Hutchins Award, the Fremantle Print Award and the Geelong Print Prize.  This year his work The Eiffel Tower has been shortlisted for the Geelong Print Prize.

“I think that time speaks to us through the marks that we make on the city, and that our marks are never entirely rubbed out. Everything changes, even in glorious artifacts like Florence, and when change emerges from the layers of new lives building on top of the old, it’s beautiful.” - Marco Luccio
